News: 05/11/02: Now offline for the summer, possibly forever. New stuff: Eminem: The Eminem Show (album release date: June 4, 2002); Spiderman (VCD); Enterprise Episodes 23 & 24; Photoshop 7 full. Last updated list for a while. IM me if you want something now. 05/08/02: For no apparent reason I upped the leech account to 500k/s, and the personal logins to 750k/s. Ent 1x23 out today, Ent 1x24 Friday. 05/06/02: Alright, here's the deal. I got Spiderman (VCD) but it has Chineese/Japaneese subtitles if that matters to you. Looks fine otherwise. There are also going to be 2 - yes 2 - Enterprise Episodes airing Wednesday, so I'll have them both by Thursday with any luck. Also, here's the end of the year info. I'll be here till Saturday morning, but I'm going to say the FTP will go OFFLINE at midnight on Friday. I will be on a dial-up for the summer, then a cable modem or something like that next year, so I do not know when - or if - this FTP will ever go back online. 05/03/02: Sorry Guys... apparently last time I cleaned some of the old crap off this page I deleted my IP - which is kind of important - its 130.126.208.222. Just use the login stuff down a couple lines. I've moved some of the old news here, and updated the list again too. 04/30/02: Movie List. Updated Entire site list - use IE's find function if you don't know where I filed something. 04/22/02: End of the year blow out! General Account Changes - Now leech all you want! Login/Password = leech/leech, 200k down, 500k up. Full access & looking only accounts still active, but all others removed. Will give 500k download access to whoever sends me any good copies of movies I don't have yet or anything else cool. Also, an Updated FTP File Listing, this page updated (somewhat), and Photoshop 7 (Update Version) obtained. An iso with Photoshop 6 and Acrobat is in the appz\new folder. Also have Adobe Illustrator 10. New Hard Drive! Still trying to get rid of my old hard drive if someone wants it. If noone gets it by the end of the school year I'll use it for something at home or stick it up on ebay. If you have any questions or know someone who may be interested in it, please email me. Special Added bonus: I will leave a copy of some - or even ALL - of the files on my ftp on that drive if you want! Contact me soon or it may be gone! User Account Info: Updated - 04-22-02 Since its the end of the year and I'll be on 56k all summer, everyone gets fast access till then. Tell all your friends - I wanna share the wealth before summer hits. Type I - Read Only Account: Pro - Anyone can log on using my read account anywhere in the world. Con - you can only browse the files - you cannot download anything from this account. If you are off campus you want download access, upload something and contact me, and I may set you up with a personal account. Login/Password = read/only. Type II - Leech Account: Upload at 500k/sec, download at 200k/sec (yes, thats 200k/sec now, with no ratio). Login/Password = leech/leech Type III - Ratio Account: De-activated. Type IV - Personal Account: No ratios, faster access (500k/sec up and down). Simply upload something I'm looking for or something you think I'll find cool and thats it. I'm not that picky on what it is, I just basically want to get files sometimes without searching for them myself. Claim your upload by email, IM, or by leaving contact info in a text file in the folder with your upload(s). Rules: Note: Failure to comply with these rules may get you BANNED, so read carefully! You may only upload into the uploads folder. Do not simply upload huge junk files, only the first half of big files so you can get download credits, or anything that it is obvious that I already have. Remember - if everyone shares good stuff, there is more good stuff to go around. When uploading, create new folders if you have multiple files (like an album). Label them so I know what they are, and let me know if its something you wanted to take credit for uploading. Do NOT Hammer. (Set Retry to 60 seconds or more). Only ONE connection per IP. Do NOT upload Porn! This is the ONLY kind of file I have specifically banned. This is as close as you will find from me. Remember, failure to follow these any of these rules could result in you being BANNED. You have been warned. What all is on this ftp? Click here for a listing of all the files. It may take a moment for this page to load. Updated about once a week. How do I log in? 1) I'd recommend getting an FTP program if you don't have one. Try getting one from here. I'd recommend WS_FTP, CuteFTP, or leechftp. 2) Now you must login. Look above and figure out which one of the accounts you want to log under. 3) From here you basically can look at my site. There are usually two windows in most programs - one is your computer, one is mine. Just browse my files similiar to how you do in Windows Explorer. When you find something you want you can tell the program to download it (usually draging and dropping my file onto the window showing your files will work). Note: depending on how you logged in you may have to upload files first. Things I'm looking for (you will get a personal account for these!) Pro Engineer 2000i or later. Movies I don't have. Anything little stuff you think other people might like. Don't see what you want? Upload requests to a text file in the requests folder! If someone else has your request or can get your request, they can upload it here for you! And if you find it elsewhere first, upload it yourself - I'm sure if you want it others do too. What about the UIUC transfer limits? If you haven't heard, CCSO is changing things - much of campus now uses rate-limiting instead of disconnecting rooms that hit 750megs in a day. Also note that transfers that stay on the UIUC network do NOT count towards the limit. If you want to know where you stand, check this site. It tells you where you stand for transfers to/from the UIUC network in the last 24 hours. It is updated every hour from what I can tell. This is how I can get away with running an FTP site on the network. I set most the accounts to only accept connections to users on the UIUC Network, so I don't have to worry about running up my limit. And you don't have to worry about running up yours either. Is all this stuff legal? The short answer: Sort of. The files on my ftp are serve 2 purposes - a backup for those who bought the software/music/whatever, and as a way to sample/test music and/or software for a limited time before purchasing it. This seems perfectly reasonable to me. However, if you plan on using certain files on this site past a day or two of sampling/testing on your system, that IS illegal. (Note some files are freeware/shareware/adware programs, and are free to the public, and are totally legal to run). In short, if you like a band, buy their CDs; If you like the software, buy it. Believe it or not, some programmers and musicians actually deserve your support. I do still buy CDs of bands I really like, and I do also still buy software occasionally, and I think others should do the same. The owner of this site accepts NO responsibility for any kind of misuse of ANY of these files.
